Tuxford & Tebbutt Of Melton Mowbray

Tuxford & Tebbutt Creamery, dating back to 1780, is located in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. The name originates from the two original owners, Mr Tuxford the Stilton man and Mr Tebbutt the pork pie man.

Up until 1965, both cheese and pork pies were made on the same site. However, since 1966, Tuxford & Tebbutt has focused solely on cheese making. Employing over 90 staff, Tuxford & Tebbutt uses traditional cheese making skills and is one of only seven creameries able to produce Blue Stilton Cheese - often referred to as the ?King of English Cheeses?.

Our award winning cheeses are hand made by experienced cheese makers using traditional methods and family values. The cheeses are still matured individually and are turned and graded by hand as has been the case for many generations. Whilst the manufacture is traditional, a huge amount of monitoring and measuring is carried out to ensure that our cheeses meet the highest quality standards. Whilst not the cheapest cheese to buy, the care and attention to detail assures a lingering and delicious taste experience!
